Vincent Myers – DIG President, Gives Insight on Sustainable Development

Vincent Myers, AIA, LEED AP, President, was recently highlighted In Greenbuild’s latest white paper, “The Business Case for Sustainable Spaces.” In the article, Myers offered insight on sustainable development and how senior leadership can make critical adjustments to address climate change. 

Many companies are committed to conscious sustainability efforts, but it remains a challenge to get the entire company and decision-makers on board. As a leader in the field, Myers brought attention to the relationship between economics and sustainability. “Businesses can now make the strong case that economic and environmental sustainability are fully interwoven. The best advocates are those at any level that are knowledgeable and know how to communicate the economic value of sustainable development.” 

When asked how to tackle greener building objectives, Myers remarked, “Objections are typically based on lack of knowledge… which is why incentives need to continue to provide the necessary spark.” He offered additional insights on sustainability throughout the piece.
