Junior Architect
(New Brunswick and Philadelphia locations)

We are currently growing and looking to staff our Philadelphia office location. Candidates interested in the Philadelphia office will begin in our New Brunswick office to fulfill the initial introductory period of the DIG experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree from accredited architectural program.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of documentation experience.
  • Experience with field survey work and documentation of existing conditions.
  • Strong communication skills; verbal, written and drawn.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to execute design and production of multiple projects.
  • Passion for understanding how building systems integrate with one another.
  • Strong time-management skills to assure deadlines are met.
  • Unlicensed however actively seeking licensure preferred.
  • Technical Skills/Expertise:
  • Perform and document existing conditions survey work (as-builts) on CAD and BIM
  • Assist in development and production of design schemes for client presentations
  • Prepare 3-d images for presentations
  • · Drafting of construction documents, development of permit or bid drawing set
  • Familiarity with materials, construction techniques, code compliance, detailing
  • Familiarity with coordinating consultant work on architecture
  • Understanding of Construction Administration process (submittal review, RFI preparation, tracking progress of construction project, etc.)
  • Proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Maintain project drawing files (multiple projects at the same time)
  • Comply with internal project budgets and schedule (team hours)
  • Ability to utilize computer software programs: word, excel, power point, photoshop, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketch Up.

Senior Project Manager

  • Primary Client contact
  • Documentation + Communication of all project tasks
  • Setting + managing/controlling fees + internal project budgets (team hours)
  • Consultant service, fee negotiation/contracts + assist with invoices
  • Developing + Managing project scope of work and schedule
  • Manage Project Design including code compliance,
    budget + schedule
  • Oversee coordination with client, consultants, contractors
  • Prepare strategic plans for project success
  • Prepare written proposals to clients and execute
    consultant contracts
  • Work with Marketing + Graphics on presentations, proposal responses, interview preparation
  • Actively participates in prospective client interviews

Construction Administrator

Technical Skills/Expertise:

  • Assure design intent is achieved despite adaptations that may be needed due to project conditions
  • Collaborate with Project Manager/Project Architect and
    Design Team
  • Review and provide recommendations of key construction contract documents, including but not limited to: Bidding results, Construction contracts, Schedule of Values and project costs, Certification of Contractor Applications for Payment
  • Reviews and provides recommendations related to changes to Contract Value
  • Conduct routine construction inspections and final punch list
  • Provide certification of Substantial Completion
  • Familiarity with materials, construction techniques, code compliance, detailing
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on construction sequence

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited program
  • Minimum of 10-15 years construction experience
  • Means to travel to job sites for construction progress and field survey investigation
  • Strong communication skills; verbal, written and drawn
  • Ability to negotiate with an eye toward Design Intent and moving the project forward in a timely fashion
  • Strong time-management skills to assure deadlines are met
  • Manage multiple on-going construction projects simultaneously
  • Review and process documentation related to the construction process of a project
  • Primary General Contractor contact, may have contact
    w/ Client as well
  • Proficiency with computer software programs including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Power Point, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, ProCore and NewForma
  • Oversee coordination of submittals, RFIs and other deliverables between consultants and contractors
  • Maintain Submittal, RFI Logs to assure construction data arrives at job site in timely manner

Intern Graphic Designer

Administrative Tasks:

 

  • Maintain project files with ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Comply with internal project budgets, deadlines and schedule

Technical Skills/Expertise:

  • Desire to learn computer software applications: Adobe Creative Cloud Suite applications (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro), Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, & Power point) WordPress and basic HTML and CSS
  • Adhere to design standards both internal and external as it relates to clients
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal team
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Produce technical drawings for bidding

Barbara Jasionek

Marketing & Communications Manager

Barbara graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute’s Architecture program. She has spent over a  decade in marketing, where her understanding of architecture uniquely enhances her ability to inform the firm’s proposal development and marketing communication strategies and to position the firm as an industry leader. Barbara leverages the team’s knowledge and expertise into compelling content that reinforces brand identity and builds recognition among our clients and peers.

She handles the rigors of her role with determination and adapts quickly to challenges, which stems from an adventurous spirit. When not fine-tuning workflow efficiencies, Barbara is out and about with her family enjoying the outdoors; from ski slopes to local trails to playgrounds to CrossFit.

Emily DeNapoli

Business Manager

Emily graduated with a Business Degree from TCNJ and has worked in the Accounting and Finance departments for software, manufacturing and construction companies. Her professional strengths in accounts receivable, process improvement and account analysis are well suited for the complex nature of architectural project billing.

Emily loves to bake, but don’t ask her to make dinner – cooking is not her forte!  Her husband is the family chef, and their two young daughters love to “help” in the kitchen.  Some of Emily’s favorite things to do include riding bikes with her older daughter Layla, reading with her younger daughter Evelyn,  going out to dinner with her husband and friends, and drinking a cup of coffee in peace and quiet.

Chris A'Hearn

Director of Finance

Chris A’Hearn comes to DIG with over 20 years of experience in corporate financial management across several industries. Along with a BS in Accounting from Rutgers University’s School of Business and an MBA from Monmouth University, Chris has a keen interest in sustainable building solutions and earned the LEED AP Certification. With his experience in engineering and commercial construction, Chris helps DIG to achieve its financial growth initiatives. He brings his passion for sustainable construction and design to the firm as well as contributing his financial expertise to the DIG team focusing on future success.

Away from the office, Chris and his wife, Anne, stay busy with 2 children. Emily studies at Bucknell University and is interested in life sciences. Andy is a gifted and talented student as well as a competitive YMCA swimmer.
