Children’s Day Pre-School and Family Center

Expanded and renovated a turn-of-the-century building whose original and continued purpose, is to serve families in need of day care for their children. The original building received extensive alterations to increase classroom sizes, and improve circulation, life safety, and functionality. The formerly underutilized basement now serves as new activity space. The building also received new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, lighting, finishes, upgrades for code compliance, as well as new roof, windows and shutters.

Recladding of the brick exterior of an addition constructed in 1989, was necessary to resolve water intrusion issues prior to the construction of a second story addition.

The new second-story level expanded the abilities of the daycare with additional classrooms and office space, restrooms, elevator, lobby, new fire stair tower. As part of the program expansion, we created an enclosed vibrant playground with colorful rubberized play surface for safety, playground equipment, and play yard toys.
